Born in Sukagawa, Tsuburaya Kokichi won the bronze medal in the 1964 Olympic Marathon, and his family provided a great number of memorabilia to display when they opened a memorial. Later the city took over the continuous operation of the Tsuburaya Kokichi Memorial Hall inside the Sukagawa Arena. This hall displays important memorabilia, information, and personal history and is free of charge.
