On March 13, 2011 (2 days after the earthquake and the day before White day) the lovebird couple that owns Oban re-opened the shop. The 73 year-old owner expressed his wish to "Restore energy to Koriyama." The bright and upbeat man, supported by his wife, attests that garlic is extremely healthful and good for the blood. It has been their recollection since they originally started the shop 40 years ago that most customers seem to favor the garlic miso ramen. The flat noodles are accompanied by liberal does of grated garlic and vegetables in a simple stock. The tenderness of the owners supplies the power to the restaurant.
