For ages the lunchtime white collar crowd has come from nearby to Ramen Kitchen Hanamaki near the City Hall. We recommend the "bean-sprout" and the "Hanamaki・noodle dishes. The bean sprout ramen is a tad spicy and acidic but loaded with vegetables. The tangle of noodles is well suited to the thick spicy-and-sour soup base. "Hanamaki" ramen has a miso base with lots of veggies. One bowl has enough volume to fill anyone up, but if one wants more, there is a half-sized order of fried rice or potstickers (Also a popular item for the ladies). There is also a daily-changing menu for 650 yen which includes coffee. At night the a la carte menu features smaller eats to accompany a little drinking on the way home. You can relax and take your time at either counter or table. The cheerful mama-san's friendly chatter will make you want to stay just a bit longer.
